What is the preservation box?
After cleaning, the dress can be packed in an archival box with acid-free tissue so it can be stored long-term. It is optional and costs £70.
Why not a plastic bag or a normal cardboard box?
Do not keep a cleaned dress in a plastic bag in a loft or wardrobe — that can yellow the fabric and trap moisture. Ordinary cardboard and tissue are not made for long-term storage. We use acid-free tissue, not a plastic bag.
Is the box sealed? Can I open it later?
No — it is not vacuum-sealed or airtight. You can open it to look at the dress. Handle it with clean, dry hands and pack it back with the acid-free tissue.
Where should I store it at home?
Somewhere cool, dark and dry inside the house — a wardrobe shelf is fine. Not the loft, attic, basement or garage, where heat and damp change a lot.
Do I have to have the box?
No. Cleaning does not include the box unless you ask for it.
How soon after the wedding should I send the dress?
As soon as you can. Champagne, sweat, perfume, makeup and grass can sit in the fabric even when you cannot see them, then yellow later. Cleaning takes 3–4 weeks from collection. If you need it back before then, WhatsApp 07494 223079.
Can I wear the dress again later?
Yes. If it has been boxed, it will usually need pressing before you wear it again.
Do you put shoes in the box?
No. We do not clean wedding shoes, and we do not pack shoes with the dress.
